Abstract

Latar belakang : Labu kuning (Cucurbita maxima D.) mengandung senyawa kimia flavonoid yang dipercaya memiliki aktivitas sebagai antibakteri. Peningkatan aktivitas Labu kuning sebagai antibakteri dapat diformulasikan dalam bentuk sediaan krim. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji sediaan krim antijerawat ekstrak etanol buah Labu kuning dengan berbagai konsentrasi, dan aktivitasnya terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Metode: Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian eksperimental dengan Menggunakan beberapa kelompok perlakuan. Uji antibakteri menggunakan metode difusi cakram. Kelompok perlakuan terdiri dari Kontrol positif menggunakan antibiotic clyndamycin , kontrol negatif menggunakan aqua pi, formula 1 krim konsentrasi 10%, formula 2 konsentrasi 15%, formula 3 krim konsentrasi 20%, formula 4 krim konsentrasi 25%, dan basis krim Hasil: Krim ekstrak etanol Labu kuning (Cucurbita maxima D.) konsentrasi 10%, 15%, 20%, dan 25% dapat menghambat bakteri Staphylococcus aureus, diameter rata-rata masing-masing 19,02±, 20,39± mm, 26,37± mm, dan 29,59± mm. Konsentrasi 25% memiliki aktivitas antibakteri sebanding dengan kontrol positif dengan diameter zona hambat pada kategori sangat kuat. Kesimpulan : Krim ekstrak etanol buah labu kuning memiliki aktivitas antibakteri terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus dan sebanding dengan kontrol positif pada konsentrasi 25%.
