Abstract

Latar Belakang: Pemeriksaan Inspeksi Visual Asam Asetat (IVA) merupakan metode skrining sederhana dan efektif untuk deteksi dini kanker serviks, namun cakupan pelaksanaan IVA di Indonesia masih sangat rendah, termasuk di wilayah kerja UPTD Puskesmas Tanjung Palas. Persepsi wanita usia subur (WUS) menjadi salah satu faktor penting yang memengaruhi partisipasi dalam pemeriksaan IVA. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran persepsi wanita usia subur (WUS) terhadap pemeriksaan IVA di Desa Teras Baru Wilayah Kerja UPTD Puskesmas Tanjung Palas. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan rancangan deskriptif. Populasi adalah seluruh wanita usia subur di Desa Teras Baru pada tahun 2025 sebanyak 212 orang, dengan teknik pengambilan sampel secara simple random sampling dan jumlah sampel 139 responden. Instrumen penelitian berupa kuesioner karakteristik dan persepsi WUS terhadap pemeriksaan IVA. Data dianalisis secara univariat dan disajikan dalam bentuk distribusi frekuensi dan persentase. Hasil: Dari 139 responden, mayoritas berada pada kategori dewasa awal (86,3%), berpendidikan SMA (43,9%), dan berprofesi sebagai ibu rumah tangga (69,1%). Sebanyak 68 orang (48,9%) memiliki persepsi positif dan 71 orang (51,1%) memiliki persepsi negatif terhadap pemeriksaan IVA. Hanya 38 orang (27,3%) yang melakukan pemeriksaan IVA, sedangkan 101 orang (72,7%) tidak melakukan. Kesimpulan: Sebagian besar wanita usia subur di Desa Teras Baru masih memiliki persepsi negatif dan melakukan rendah terhadap pemeriksaan IVA. Hal ini menegaskan perlunya peningkatan edukasi, dukungan keluarga, dan inovasi strategi promosi kesehatan untuk mendorong partisipasi WUS dalam deteksi dini kanker serviks. Background: Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (VIA) is a simple and effective screening method for early detection of cervical cancer, but the coverage of VIA implementation in Indonesia is still very low, including in the working area of the Tanjung Palas Community Health Center (UPTD). The perception of women of childbearing age (WUS) is one of the important factors that influence participation in VIA examination. Objective: This study aims to determine the description of the perception of women of childbearing age (WUS) towards VIA examination in Teras Baru Village, the working area of the Tanjung Palas Community Health Center (UPTD). Method: This study uses a quantitative method with a descriptive plan. The population is all marginalized women in Teras Baru Village in 2025, totaling 212 people, with a simple random sampling technique and a sample size of 139 respondents. The research instrument is a questionnaire on the characteristics and perceptions of WUS towards VIA examination. Data were analyzed univariately and presented in the form of frequency distribution and percentage. Results: Of the 139 respondents, the majority are in the early adulthood category (86.3%), have a high school education (43.9%), and work as housewives (69.1%). A total of 68 people (48.9%) had a positive perception and 71 people (51.1%) had a negative perception of the VIA examination. Only 38 people (27.3%) were interested in undergoing the VIA examination, while 101 people (72.7%) were not interested. Conclusion: Most women of childbearing age in Teras Baru Village still have a negative perception and low interest in the VIA examination. This emphasizes the need for increased education, family support, and innovative health promotion strategies to encourage WUS participation in early detection of cervical cancer.
