Abstract
The method of translation has many tensions in translations such as between sound and sense emphasis (word order) and naturalness (grammar) the figurative and the literal neatness and comprehensiveness concision and accuracy. Since of it would help the translator producing good language to get the equivalent with the original text. Objective: it is to investigate the use of method of translation and the meaning equivalence between source language (SL) and target language (TL) using Peter Nemark's theory and Eugene A. Nida and Taber's theory in song lyric of How Far I'll Go By Auli’i Cravalho And Seberapa Jauh Ku Melangkah By Maudy Ayunda. Method: This study employs a qualitative method. Furthermore, the data were analysed by presenting the data in the form of an example of each type of meaning equivalents between the song lyric How Far I'll Go and the song lyric Seberapa Jauh Ku Melangkah. Result: Almost all types of translation methods are used to translate song lyrics except semantic, free and idiomatic translation; Formal and dynamic equivalence methods are mostly used in the translation of song lyrics of How Far I’II Go By Auli’i Cravalho And Seberapa Jauh Ku Melangkah By Maudy Ayunda. Conclusion: This research concluded that the translation of song lyrics of How Far I’II Go By Auli’i Cravalho And Seberapa Jauh Ku Melangkah By Maudy Ayunda. Employed almost all translation methods especially formal and dynamic equivalence to achieve translation equivalence.
